Final Monday Night Group Ride for 2014 & End of Season Party

It's Monday and again the weather is awesome riding but sunset is at 7:47!!

B- is riding at 5:15 to get in more miles.  The other groups are still riding at 5:30 but we're tight on daylight so please email compedgecycling@gmail.com if you're riding so we won't leave without you.  We're going to try to roll out as soon as everyone is here or 5:30 at the latest.

We'll be trying to get everyone back by sunset or close to it, but as you know, things can happen on the road, so please have your lights charged and on by 6:15pm.  Thanks.

Also, the shop is inviting us in for pizza & beer after the ride so plan to hang out after.

Group Rides and Center Grill R2R Fund Raiser

It's Monday and again the weather is awesome riding but sunset is at 7:02!!

The shop is closed today and tomorrow but everyone is invited to join us at the Center Grill starting at 5:30 for the Ride to Remember fund raiser. $20 admission for apps and entertainment plus there is a bike and other prizes being raffled off.

Monday Night Group Rides TONIGHT

Group Rides Tonight. Let's ride.

Monday Night Club Riders,

Bike Maintenance Clinic Offering

Hi Everyone!

Thursday, July 31, 2014, the shop will be offering a general maintenance class for all club riders. The class will start at 7pm at the shop and will cover various topics such as flat tire repair, chain cleaning, and pre-ride safety checks. 

This class is open to all club riders, but due to the nature of the class we are limiting it to 7 attendees. To sign up for the class you can contact the shop. This event will be first come, first serve.

If you are interested in the class but are unable to attend, we will try to plan an additional class.

Sorry to have to let you know that Ed Fogarty, our B- leader had an accident last Tuesday that had put him off the bike for the foreseeable future.  He has a broken rib, damaged shoulder and worst torn thumb that needs involved surgery to fix. On to the good news, David Bond is stepping to lead for tonight's ride.  He has a relatively flat-rolling, familiar route planned.

Some New some Same - Routes for Monday Group Rides

Hi CEC Cyclists,

Hope harder this week that the weather holds for Monday's rides.  Some of us were brave (some say stupid) and rode last week anyway.  All in all it was a great night but check the www.facebook/compedgecycling or call the shop if the weather looks questionable.

Group A,  Dan Kurowski leading

Here is Monday's A-ride. Bring plenty of water. 


A Group:
•  fast pace; 18-22mph average
•  fast pace no-drop ride, group will regroup at the top of climbs.  
•  routes not marked on road, please be familiar with the route

Group B, John Taloumis leading

B riders, John's keeping the route planned for last week, it's a relatively flat 44mi route thru Agawam country roads with 1575 of climbing (per Strava) so it should be a 'fast' paced ride.  Just follow the link below to get familiar with the route and print a cue sheet if you like.
