Up next is Gloucester this weekend, some midweek racing at Night Weasels, and Providence! If you're at the races and see us riding around or hangin' out at the tent, stop by and say hello. We'll have some race recaps up under the 'CEC Racing' tab coming up soon, so check it out!

THE STAFFORD 50! - This weekend!!!!

Hey CEC crew!

I know that the season is slowing down a bit, but we are not!

Jay-Mo & Jeff Landry are putting on an epic mountain bike ride this weekend, and you don't want to miss out! This will most likely be the first annual Stafford 50 as we would like to keep this ride going year after year. Here are the details:

Date:
9/24/11
Time:
Ride will start at 8:30am, sharp, and will take approximately 6-7 hours
Where:
Ride will start from Jaymo’s house, 94 Hampden Rd. Stafford, CT 06076
Contact/ text:
Jason Moriarty at 413-330-4843 with any questions
Bring:
Tube(s), CO2(s), A good amount of food and at least 2 water bottles. Beer, for post ride recovery. We will try to have a person or at least a car, at either Soap Stone parking lot, or Galbriath Rd. lot with additional water and possibly food.

Ride Description:
Approximately 50 mile MTB ride with a variety of terrain, a little pavement, dirt roads, technical single track, fast technical down hills, and a good amount of climbing. We will start from my house and will ride a bunch of trails on the “North Side” of Shenipsit State Forest and Soapstone Mountain. The course will not be marked, so keeping up with the group will be mandatory, the pace will be moderate but steady, we will try not to drop anyone but there is a lot of ground/miles to cover, there are “bail out points” if necessary. Depending on turnout we can/may have some food, burgers, dogs, veggie burgers, cookies, salad, drinks ect. at the end of the ride.

Hope everyone can make it!

Thursday Mountainbike ride

What's up kids....another Thursday ride is upon us. I'd like to say let's go ride the West Hartford Res since I'm working right around the corner from there. But Robinson is where I think we should go. It seems to be the most convenient as well as a great place to start getting used to riding with our lights again. (don't forget to charge up your batteries) So what do ya say, lets go have some fun! See ya all there for 5;30 ready to roll....

Peace,

J E F F

Women Specific: Last Wednesday Ride for 2011

Hello Ladies!

All great things come to an end, but thankfully in this case, just for a season.  As of right now we are planning on having our last ride tomorrow.  It looks like there is a 30% chance of rain/thunderstorm/hail (surprise), but I have a feeling we'll be in the clear.  We'll be heading out of the shop at 5:30pm, and venturing off for just under 20 miles.  Please feel free to check out the route here.  I'll post a cancelation note by 4pm, if necessary.

I'm really looking forward to seeing you all out there!  Thank you ladies, whether you came out once or every week, you all truly made this such a special time.  A big thanks as well to Comp Edge EL for your support, and especially those beer boys that would frequently make an appearance at the end of the ride.  I will truly miss this time with you all.

See you tomorrow!

Jen

PS - Providing the ride happens, dinner is still a go.  We'll plan on it after the ride and chat more tomorrow evening.

The last Monday ride of the 2011 season.

Sadly, tonight is going to be our last Monday night ride of the season, due to the declining daylight.  Right now the sun is setting at about 7:15, which means that we really only have about an hour and half to ride.

So, for our last ride of the season, we are going to do a short, but fun ride.  We're going to ride about 25 miles.  It'll have a couple town line sprints, a good hill, fun descent and some mellow rolling hills.  They'll be something for everyone.

Also, please remember that the shop is closed today so that everyone can recoup from the melĂ©e that was the Comp Edge tent sale.  So, the shop will not be open to fill bottles, change etc.  Please take care of all that before you get to the shop.  Thanks.

Please make sure to be ready to roll at promptly at 5:30 so that we can get the most riding in possible.

Hope to see everyone tonight!
